Just in case we are closed because of the snow, there will be a page added to the Families section of the website by the end of the day where you can access work for the students to complete at home. Any tasks completed can be brought into school for marking when we return.
This year, we will be supporting the Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day campaign. We are inviting all our students (and staff!) to wear their Christmas jumpers for their Christmas lunch in school and donate £1 to Save the Children. We hope to see as many Christmas jumpers as possible and homemade ones are welcomed!
This week’s assembly was all about setting targets and goals for ourselves. The challenge for the students is to set two targets by next Thursday. One should be a personal target and one should be a school related one. They should write their targets into their planners.
We are very honoured that one of our boys decided to raise some money to put towards the stolen equipment from Upper School! Shane raised £40 and brought us a cheque this morning. Thank you, Shane. It made Miss Huckle cry…
On behalf of all staff and students at Demeter House, I would like to thank everyone who has offered support, donations or sympathy following the break in at Scawby. We are very sad that someone has found it acceptable to take things that do not belong to them, especially when the students themselves helped to raise the money for that equipment. However, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of people in our local community and beyond and the level of support we have received has been completely unexpected but very gratefully received. We will be holding some events to thank everyone and to showcase our amazing students and their talent. We are very proud of our school and we will bounce back even stronger, especially knowing that we have so many people wishing us well.
